Sedation DentistryMarietta, GA

Even for the most relaxed person, a trip to the dentist can be nerve wracking. Thanks to modern technology, dental work no longer has to be painful and at Marietta Dental Professionals, we always put our patients’ comfort first. We believe even the most anxious patients deserve amazing dental care. That’s why we offer safe, effective and convenient sedation methods to relax our patients during treatment.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas as it is commonly referred to, is a popular dental sedation method as it is easily administered, extremely safe and effective and has no side effects. After your treatment, you can leave the dentist chair and get on with your day as normal! Nitrous oxide is inhaled through a small nose apparatus and works immediately, putting you in a deep state of relaxation. Our team has been trained to administer and monitor the gas, so the quantity can be adjusted how you like.

Laughing gas is a great treatment for patients of all ages, and our Marietta, GA team are on hand to answer any questions you have. Don’t hesitate, contact us!

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is another safe option in sedation therapy and can suit those who don’t like the idea of using a face mask or have a more complex upcoming treatment. All the patient has to do is take an anti-anxiety medication an hour before treatment. As this sedation method can leave the patient feeling drowsy we do recommend you have someone drive you to and from the clinic. The oral sedation will help you feel calm and relaxed, while still being conscious throughout the procedure and able to respond to instructions given by your dentist.

Marietta Dental Professionals have chosen these sedation methods as they are quick, safe and produce little to no side effects. There are however, some things we do need to know before we can ensure this treatment is right for you. Please inform our dentists of any allergies, medications you take, surgical procedures you have had or if you are pregnant, as some sedation methods may not be suitable under specific circumstances. Maintaining your well-being is our goal and we will always advise with the individual patient in mind.
